Reporters without Borders has organized a 24 hour online demo, creating digital public squares so that individuals who normally can’t demonstrate or protest (in countries like Burma, Vietnam, North Korea, Eritrea, and several others) have an outlet to do so. RSF specifically targeted these countries due to their pathetic record in internet censorship and filtering, often jailing cyberdissidents without due process. The site is very beautiful, basing these digital public squares on the real-world equivalents, for example Tiananmen Square in China, Kim Jong Il Square in North Korea, Revolution Square in Cuba, Prison Square in Eritrea. So far, it looks like China has the most participant, but click on over there and give them your support.
These countries have pretty bad track record in detaining and jailing cybderdissidents, through internet filtering and censorship.
